Perhaps your teen goes to sleep murmuring the name "Pele" or starts kicking a soccer ball in her sleep. It may be time to buy her a teen soccer bedding set. Soccer has shot through America as a popular sport that just about anyone can enjoy, and a wide array of teen soccer bedding is on the market.
Types
Teen soccer bedding comes in styles that suit a range of different teens. Some are definitely meant for the girl soccer player, with a pink pleated bed skirt and a pink quilt and pillow shams adorned with large black and white soccer balls. Others are more masculine, featuring blue or black backgrounds, also adorned with soccer balls. Some feature a design of all soccer balls, making for an interesting geometric pattern across the entire set. Others feature world flags, stripes and other colorful additions.
Features
Many of the teen soccer bedding sets come as a quilt or comforter ensemble that also includes pillow shams and a bed ruffle. Some may include a set of sheets, with a fitted sheet, top sheet and pillowcases. The best way to make sure the items work together is to purchase the sets, which may be a heftier initial investment but work out cheaper than buying each item separately.
Size
Many of the teen bedding sets are available in twin size, which is a common bed size for teens. Others will be available in both twin and full sizes, but you are unlikely to find a queen or king size teen bedding set. Prices match the size and number of items that come with the bedding sets. A twin set that comes with a quilt, bed ruffle and shams can start as low as around $50, whereas sets that include everything needed, even the sheets, can run $200 or more (see Resources section).
Considerations
Some soccer quilts or comforters may be reversible, featuring a different pattern on each side, or one side with only a solid color. These are good options for fickle teens who may easily tire of one pattern or the soccer theme altogether. Other sets don't stick only to soccer but include a design inclusive of all sports. Soccer balls may be nestled next to baseballs, footballs and other sports equipment, a perfect choice for the all-around jock.
Potential
Once the bedding set is purchased, you can find fun extras that give the soccer theme a little extra kick. Options include throw pillows shaped like soccer balls, stuffed animals or throw blankets outfitted in a soccer theme. Other accessories go beyond the immediate bed and include a soccer ball lamp, rugs and even a hanging light fixture shaped like a soccer ball (see Resources section).
