Many people, from children to adults, love a good soccer match. To show pride for a favorite team or to liven up a party's decor, here are a few ideas for homemade soccer decorations that are inexpensive and simple to create.
Soccer Ball Pinata
A soccer party is a great way to make a child's birthday a success. Kids get to run like mad, which makes them happy, and they go home tired, which makes mommy and daddy happy. Start the fun by making a pinata in the form of a soccer ball. Fill it with either party gifts or candy, and suspend it with stout string. If the partygoers are very young, let them come up one at a time and kick the pinata. If they are a bit older, make it more challenging by gently swinging the ball.
World Cup Fever
The World Cup is on! Before everyone comes over to watch Argentina stomp England, the house can be decorated with homemade soccer decorations to highlight the event. Make inexpensive banners out of construction paper. Just cut out the letters of your team and tape them onto the paper. You can also hang jerseys with the names of favorite players.
Bedroom Banners
Most children who are soccer fans love to advertise their favorite teams and players on their bedroom walls. It's easy to make cheap banners or flags representing their idols. Buy a stiff, inexpensive fabric such as felt. Cut a long, triangular piece and glue on letters made of construction paper. Maybe add a picture of a soccer ball, too.
