Will Lennon Join Liverpool?

Will Lennon Join Liverpool?

The Evening Standard released a story earlier today linking Aaron Lennon to a possible Liverpool summer switch. Will Lennon follow in Robbie Keane’s footsteps and abandon White Heart Lane?

I can understand why Liverpool would want Lennon, an amazing player who is starting to show his true potential. His dominance of the right wing would be a great addition to a team that has Kuyt and Riera, but lacks any other strong players in that position.  Rafa has always been able to spot quality, and affordable, young talent.

While Lennon would be a great addition to Liverpool, would he be willing to go after Robbie Keane’s disastrous time at Anfield?

Lennon and Keane seem to not only work well together on the pitch, but have an actual friendship outside of the club. Would Lennon seek Keane’s advice on the matter? And would that keep him at Tottenham?

I believe the answer is “Yes.”

Lennon will use the opportunity to get more money from the Hotspurs, which he deserves, and will then stay and fulfill his contract. In a recent article by Stephen Crawford, Harry Redknapp mentioned how he has gotten Robbie Keane to dominate the field once again.

"He knows he's important to us and this is where he's at home, where his heart is. For anybody, it doesn't matter what you do, it's good to know you're important.”

"You have to feel wanted and appreciated in life and he knows how much I wanted to bring him here. A bit of love, that's what it's all about.”

Redknapp has shown true character by supporting his players and giving them time to learn and improve. Something Benitez isn’t known for doing.  While the lure of money and Champions League football will be strong, I believe Lennon will make the right choice and stay with the Hotspurs.

What do you think?
