Another weekend of great EPL action and we're right back where we started.
It took injury time goals from United and Liverpool to save three points, but at the end of the day the top three remain the same.
Aston Villa came close to spoiling the fun, but a last minute goal from Federico Macheda (don't worry, I hadn't head his name before today either) spoiled a deserved point for the 5th place side.
Villa looked as impressive as they have all season and could still shake things up as the campaign winds down. They are currently 6 points out of 4th place, and with Arsenal still having to play ManU, Chelsea and Liverpool, the Birmingham club could have a realistic shot at playing Champions League football next year.
My money is on Villa to displace them from the top four in the EPL table, but don't count Arsenal out in Europe. Domestic form aside, Arsenal is playing well in the Champions League and an Arsenal win in Europe would guarantee then the right to play in the 2009/10 tournament regardless of their domestic standing. According to
UEFA's new rules on the matter, the fourth place team would be displaced. That would be heartbreak for Villa (or Chelsea if they aren't careful) but could make for an exciting end of the season.
