After Saturday’s horrid loss, it was important that Liverpool come out of the gate and dominate. The loss to Middlesbrough ended the title race and dealt Liverpool a huge blow. It was important to show their strength, especially before next week’s Champions League game against Real Madrid.
What happened?
Ngog and Yossi scored, stomping Sunderland 2-0. It was Ngog’s first starting appearance for the club and he did a great job. The young Frenchman captured his first league goal and helped Liverpool reclaim their lost confidence. While I’m happy for him, the rest of his game showed that Liverpool still lacks a striking presence when Torres isn’t on the field.
My question is simple: did Rafa throw away a chance at the EPL and Champions League trophies when he didn’t replace Keane? Should he have ever let Keane go in the first place?
